Patrick DempseyA deafening screech concert greeted the stars of the film”Made of Honor“, Patrick Dempsey und Michelle Monaghan as they arrived on the white carpet (in keeping with the theme of the film) for the German Premiere. They had their work cut out, trying to fulfil the wishes of the fans, while accommodating the press and television by posing for photographs and giving interviews.

Made of Honor” is a romantic comedy, where Tom (Patrick Dempsey , well-known through his role as Dr. Derek Shepherd in the TV series “Grey’s Anatomy”), finally realises that his best friend these last ten years, Hannah (Michelle Monaghan) is the perfect wife for him, as she leaves to spend a couple of months in Scotland. Unfortunately whilst there she has met another and is engaged; so now the fun starts….

Even the Mayor of Berlin Klaus Wowereit is a fan of Patrick Dempsey and the medical series, so naturally he and his partner, Jörn Kubick, were at the reception for the stars in the Ritz Carlton. Later they both posed for photos with Patrick Dempsey und Michelle Monaghan for the press.

Also present on the white petal strewn carpet were Susan Sideropoulos (who had a lot of fun scattering the petals), Tino Mewes and girlfriend Jytte-Merle Böhrnsen (who were in the mood to cuddle), Anna Brüggemann, Manuel Cortez, Kerstin Linnartz & Tanya Neufeldt (who were coerced into cuddling for the press), Maike von Bremen (and boyfriend Janosch Voigt, who wasn’t in the mood to be photographed), Kerstin Merlin (who would have done just about anything for the photographers), Cherno Jobatey, Loretta Stern, Nova Meierhenrich, Oliver Kalkofe, Franziska Knuppe, Mirja du Mont, Inge Posmyk, Nadine Warmuth, Janina Stopper and the colleagues Annika Kipp and Torgen Schneider (who also liked a cuddle).

ControlOr the lovers premiere, as the stars Alexandra Maria Lara and Sam Riley, who both attended the German premiere of “Control” in the “Kino in der Kulturbrauerei”, Prenzlauer Berg Berlin, met on the film set in 2006 and fell in love. Consequently, Sam Riley moved to Berlin Charlottenburg to live with Alexandra Maria Lara.

Alexandra Maria Lara and Sam Riley were accompanied by the film director, the legendary photographer, Anton Corbijn (who sold his house in London to finance the film) and his former neighbour, Herbert Grönemeyer, the German rock star. Herbert Grönemeyer, who had also helped finance the fim, has a minor part as a doctor.

With this film, Anton Corbijn returns to the start of his career in England, where as a young photographer, he took the photographs which revealed the dark and introspective songs of Ian Curtis and Joy Division. And here he tells the story, in black and white (fitting the intense and depressive atmosphere of the film), of the troubled life, depression and eventual suicide of the singer Ian Curtis (Sam Riley).

Also as loving couples on show were Jasmin Tabatabai & Andreas Pietschmann and the French musician and actress July Deply with the film musician Marc Streitenfeld.
